In a word: Absolutely brilliant. Okay, two words. My three boys (ages 8, 8, 10) loved it. Totally appropriate for all ages. Not even any butt or fart jokes (that I recall), though there were some of those in the previews. It's a
great
story. And even though Lego has made kits from the movie, it is absolutely
not
a shill for Lego products, unless the simple fact that the whole world is made of Lego is a shill in itself. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil anything. I laughed harder at this film than I have in a long time, and the ending is incredibly touching. Like other great "kid" movies, such as
Toy Story
, the film works on a level for adults and a level kids at the same time. And if the adult has their own history of Lego, then it's even more powerful.
We saw it in XD 3D (or something like that) because the people we went with wanted to see it in 3D. I'm not convinced the 3D added much. In fact, it made it difficult to examine some of the background scenery, which is full of Easter eggs. And when something flew quickly across the screen it was often blurry and hard to see. But that might just be me.
I give it 10/10 Red Bricks.

It actually looks really funny. I'll steal it off the internet eventually.

It was fantastic. If you are a Lego fan like myself, you will love every moment of the movie. I want to see it again to catch more Easter eggs

When I saw the previews for it I though it would be really dumb, I would still go and see it, I mean its a Lego movie, that awesome. But I looked up review earlier today and saw that it had a 8.9 on IMDB, I was surprised and thought it had to be a typo, so I checked Rotten Tomatoes, and it had a 96%. So yeah, I'm now seeing the Lego movie tonight.

I couldn't make any sense of the previews. They didn't express any coherent storyline. But really, I can't come up with enough superlatives for this film.

This movie is not at all about low hanging fruit. It's so intelligent and engaging that they don't need that sort of humor.

I'm curious if the people who made the movie have anything to do with the Lego video games, like Lego City Undercover? That game was really well written with some pretty witty humor and I've heard some pretty great things about the Lego movie as well. I'm hoping to go see it sometime, but I don't get to the movie much.

I just watched it with my best friend, I was amazed at how good this movie is, The references it has are intelligently hilarious. It's worthy of watching again with my parents. I watched it in 2D, and I saw all the little "Easter eggs".
